Self Respect

I’m sure your intentions are pure, but are they responsible? Do you consider your influence before you post that? Do you think about fighting perceptions true or false prior to saying that? You see, respect for self means value for self. You treat things differently, present them uniquely, and even impress others to respect them when you truly value something. But when you don’t respect or value something enough you become irresponsible with the way it’s handled and presented to the rest of the world. I would never tell you to value another’s opinion of yourself over your own. What I will ALWAYS tell you however, is to value yourself so much that others wouldn’t dare THINK of disrespecting you. And for that to happen, you must let your value and respect for self match your standards, messages, images and perception to everyone else. You can’t blame people for speaking negatively on a reality you gave them in the first place. But you can change it. In the words of Don Draper from Mad Men, “If you don’t like what’s being said, change the conversation.” Own Your Actions | Create Your Experiences @MrFrankieWilson
